Sound & Inductive Loop Systems

We have been responsible for many prestigious projects, including Public Buildings, Cathedrals, Abbeys, Churches, Chapels, etc., as well as countless day-centres, private houses and residential home lounges.

The Disability Discrimination Act has been law for many years now, and we can give advice on your responsibilities. Even small businesses, organisations, and public buildings, where the pubic have access, must have a Reception Loop, and provide facilities for hard-of-hearing and deaf people to communicate with them easily. So if you suspect that you do not fulfill the relevant requirements, please call Stuart.

We are also happy to prepare and supply a complete ‘package' for self-installation, where travel costs may prohibit professional installation. This has been extremely successful on the Scottish islands, and other remote sites.

As a brief introduction to Sound and Loop Systems, we have prepared a small leaflet which outlines what each can and cannot do. It is called the Red Leaflet...please ask for a copy.

Sound Re-inforcement Systems....

These are intended to bring the level of sound and understanding of a person speaking up to a level which could be perceived by a person with normal hearing at about a distance of 2 metres.

Individually-designed systems use plug-in or radio microphones (or other inputs such as mixers, tape or CD players). The mixed signal is fed via an amplifier to strategically-placed speakers, so that people can speak and be heard without straining. It is also possible to add on a tape recording facitity

Unfortunately, a poorly-designed system can worsen the situation so it is best to seek good, experienced people to give advice, and carry-out the installation.

Inductive Loop Systems................

For use on a stand-alone basis, or in conjunction with a sound system, these are designed so that those with hearing aids can hear more clearly.

Microphones and a dedicated loop amplifier feed a loop of wire which is fixed around the room or building. Hearing aids are then switched over to a ‘T' position which cuts out all background sound, and only hears what is coming through the microphone(s) of the system, giving a much better sound-picture of what is said.

We can also provide portable sound and/or loop systems for occasional use, or for where permanent installation is not possible. These systems can have built-in speakers and radio microphones, and so can preserve sensitive buildings from permanent work being done on the fabric. They are available tailor-made to your requirements with full instructions. Call us with your thoughts, and let us guide you through the process.

JUST ASK A HEARING-AID WEARER THE BENEFIT TO BE GAINED!!

TESTIMONIALS:-

"On behalf of the Congregational Board, I send to you our warmest thanks for the superb way in which the installation of the inductive loop system was carried-out. When I reported the next Sunday that the system was now in place, several members asked.......'where is it?"...Kilmore Parish, Mull
